Gary Chambers is the resident Professional at Killymoon Golf Club. Gary played his early golf at Dungannon Golf Club before becoming assistant to Barry Hamill here at Killymoon. Gary finished his training under the watchful eye of Jimmy Cassidy at Dundalk Golf Club in Co. Louth before returning to Killymoon as Head Professional in July 1995.
Until more recent years Gary played the full Irish region PGA tournament schedule and had moderate success winning numerous tournaments and setting a few course records along the way. Preferring to leave the tournament scene to the younger pro’s these days, Gary can be found at Killymoon most days.
Gary was honoured by his peers in 2016 when he became the Captain of the PGA in Ireland, a role that involved travelling the length and breadth of Ireland making numerous speeches along the way while simultaneously representing, not only the PGA in Ireland but all at The Killymoon Golf Club. Gary finished his year by attending the Ryder Cup at Hazeltine National Golf Club in Minnesota, USA.
David Thompson joined Gary as his PGA assistant in May 2016 and has proved to be very popular among the members. Hailing from Glengormley, David worked in retail at DW Sports before moving to the Hilton Golf Club, Templepatrick where he spent one year under the watchful eye of PGA Professional Eamon Logue before moving on to the Lough Erne Resort, Enniskillen and from there he joined The Killymoon Golf Club a year later.
